Can a test result be affected by the fact that I drank a lot of liquid?
A very large fluid intake can dilute the urine, so the amount of hCG present in the urine may not be detectable. You should not therefore, change your usual fluid intake. However, you can increase the hCG concentration in the urine by drinking less and not urinating for about 2 hours before the test is taken. The safest way is to test your urine first thing in the morning.
