International condom manufacturers are planning price increases in the wake of the Iran conflict. However, RFSU’s condom production is not currently affected.

“We are well prepared, and we in the Nordic region don’t need to cut back on condoms. It is the most cost-effective tool we have for preventing unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections,” says Anette Otterström, Communications Manager at RFSU AB.

Yesterday, news spread that condom manufacturer Karex plans to raise condom prices by up to 30 percent due to, among other things, higher raw material costs. RFSU AB, the market leader in the Nordic region, has not yet had to make the same
adjustments.

“We have been quality-testing and manufacturing condoms for over 50 years and have well-established supply chains that ensure the availability of condoms in the Nordic region,” says Anette Otterström.

However, the global cost situation remains strained, with increased costs for energy, transportation, and production, among other things, which could affect the entire industry in the long term.
“We are closely monitoring developments and conducting ongoing assessments of the price situation, with public health and accessibility as our starting point,” says Anette Otterström.
